Cancellation and refunds
Draft under legal review. This text is provisional and may change before Tripula launches. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
How to cancel, when cancellation takes effect, what is refunded and what happens to your machines and data afterwards. This applies to the Solo and Team plans purchased on the website; the Enterprise plan follows its contract. This policy is part of the Terms of use.
1. 7-day right of withdrawal
On every plan, you can withdraw within 7 days of the first charge, as provided by article 49 of Brazil's Consumer Protection Code, and get the full amount paid back, without having to give a reason.
To do so, cancel from the panel or write to contact@tripula.dev within that period.
2. How to cancel
The organization's owner or billing member cancels in Organization › Plan › Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, and it can be undone until then.
3. Monthly plan
No commitment: cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid, and Tripula keeps working until then. The month in progress is not refunded.
4. Annual plan
The annual plan is paid up front. After the 7-day withdrawal period, if you cancel, you get back the full months that haven't started yet, at the annual plan's monthly-equivalent price (the annual price divided by 12). The month in progress is not refunded, and access continues until it ends.
Example: on Solo annual (R$2,388, or R$199 a month), cancelling in the middle of month 4 means you use Tripula until the end of month 4 and get back 8 × R$199 = R$1,592. On Team, the math is the same, per seat.
5. How refunds are paid
Refunds are a reversal to the same card used for the charge. How long it takes to show on the statement depends on the card issuer, usually up to two statements.
The corresponding tax invoice is cancelled or adjusted.
6. Usage beyond the allowance
Usage beyond the CPU, memory and disk allowance and any extra resources purchased are billed on the invoice after the usage and are not refunded once used. On cancellation, usage up to the end of the period goes on the last charge.
7. Machines and data after cancellation
Until the end of the paid period, everything keeps working. After that, the machines hibernate and no one can create new machines in the organization.
For 30 days, the machines are kept: the owner can subscribe again and everything comes back as it was, or ask at contact@tripula.dev for access to export the code and data (git push, files and database copies).
After those 30 days, the machines and their disks are deleted, and backups expire on their normal cycle (up to 3 days). Billing data and tax invoices are kept for the period required by tax law.
8. Late payment
If an invoice is due and not paid, the count starts on the due date of the oldest open invoice:
- From day one, a banner in the panel warns the organization, with the amount and a pay button for the owner and billing members.
- On day 7, the owner and billing members get the “Payment not confirmed” email.
- From day 14, no one can create new machines.
- On day 45, the machines hibernate.
- Nothing is deleted for late payment: once paid, everything comes back.
9. Enterprise plan and questions
On the Enterprise plan, cancellation and refunds follow the contract. Billing questions: contact@tripula.dev.
